When a citizen commits a crime, an illegal activity such as fraud, vandalism, murder, kidnapping or robbery, etc., they receive a punishment, this is a penalty imposed according to the laws of the country that it may be a time in prison, a fine, community service and others.

Crime has been a problem for many time, in the different countries in the world. Governments try to eliminate or keep the control of these illegal activities to keep the social order and protect citizens, and that is why they apply a punishment to the citizen when they carry out these illegal activities and they are caught by the authorizations.

Every day we receive a lot of information around us. We are exposed to different media as TV, radio, internet, advertisements, magazines and other so we need to have a critical thinking with that information and if we want to have a critical thinking we need to evaluate and analyze the information or messages because some words, images and sounds are trying to manipulate us with strategies that affect our way we thinking, feel, and behave, for this reason is important to develop the skill: media literacy

Media literacy help us to comprehend the messages presented throughout the media. It is all about taking a second look at media texts, is try to analyze, understand or read the messages hide, be critical with the information that we read or see. We don’t have to believe everything what we see without analyze it because not all is always reliable.

 DENNIS MACALISTAIR RITCHIE

Dennis Macalistair Ritchie was an American computer scientist. He was born on September 9 th, 1941 in Bronxville, New York.

When he was a child, he moved to summit, Nueva Jersey with his family and he finished the school in Summit High School in 1959. He got a degree as physics and math at Harvard University in 1963. 

In 1967, Ritchie began to work at the Bell Labs. In this place, he worked in pair with Ken Thompson and both developed UNIX, it is an operating system, it was launched on November 3rd, 1971. Ritchie created the popular C programming language too. This programming language helped create the Unix operating software. Both are two of software tools most important in the history, the C programming is still popular and Unix was a software influential to create other softwares very popular now, example: Linux.

In 1973, Ritchie published a research paper on the C programming language, and later in 1980, he and his colleague, Brian Kernighan, published a book: The C Programming Leaguage, a popular book between software developers. 

Ritchie and his colleague, Ken Thompson, received different awards: The Turing Award (1983), IEEE Richard W. Hamming Medal from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (1990), EE. UU. National Medal of Technology (1999) and Japan Prize for Information and Communications (2011) 

Finally, Ritchie retired in 2007 as head of System Software Research Department in Lucent Technologies and he was found dead on October 12, 2011 at his home in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey
